The Difference Maker 1 – Making Your Attitude Your Greatest Asset

By Dr. John C. Maxwell

Motivational speakers have famously touted the slogan, “attitude is everything.” While there’s no doubt about the power of a positive outlook, attitude alone won’t take you to the top. By itself, attitude is unable to resurrect a doomed business plan or make up for a deficiency of knowledge. Attitude can’t alter reality or reverse a dire financial situation. The “attitude is everything” doctrine becomes dangerous when a person lives on hope rather than paying his or her dues for success. The mindset, “Everything will turn out for the best,” substitutes for planning and effort. Attitude has undeniable benefit, but it’s not a magic ticket that compensates for failure to perform. You cannot disconnect attitude from reality and expect to be successful.

Rick Warren’s Ministry Toolbox

What women wish pastors knew about mothers and their children by Denise George Printer version Moms crave church-sponsored parenting classes that teach parents to become more astute Bible teachers to their children.” Denise George, author of What Women Wish Pastors Knew Most Christian moms struggle to rear godly children. We live in a society that doesn’t teach or promote godliness. When Christian mothers bring children into this world, they are keenly aware of their new responsibilities to care for their child’s physical, emotional, mental, financial, and spiritual needs. It’s an awesome and exhausting job for a woman married to a spiritually-mature, loving, and caring husband. It is an almost impossible job for a woman who must parent alone due to divorce, abandonment, or death of a husband.

The Fruit of Immaturity

The Fruit of Immaturity by Alex Chediak I never used to RSVP for get-togethers, but would show up at the last minute. My friend Darren once told me that a single man’s social life is based on the “last best option.” In other words: Never commit, because a better alternative may come along. I had a friend named Chris who dated his girlfriend for quite a while, spending lots of time with her, but never defining their relationship. Only when she asked would he reluctantly start considering his feelings and intentions. Another friend, Bob, was not a member of any church, but he went to three of them. He liked the music at one, the teaching at another, and preferred the social scene at a third.

SermonCentral.com: Three Things Your Church Can

Three Things Your Church Can’t Afford to Lose (And Six Keys for Keeping Them) by Greg Stier Dare 2 Share Ministries There are many churches that, year after year, are losing some of their most precious resources. As a result their numbers are shrinking, their congregations are graying and their passion is dying. What are these churches losing? The next generation! I’m convinced that if senior pastors don’t take immediate—even drastic—action, the body of Christ is going to lose more than just a handful of teenagers attending their youth groups. They will lose the battle with Satan for the soul of America. After all, ultimately America is not going to be transformed from the outside in (pickets, protests and political action) but from the inside out (revival, repentance and reaching out)! Who better to lead this revival than a generation of young people? The problem comes when we begin to open our eyes to the grim reality that teenagers are evacuating the church. Instead of revival we are seeing what I have come to call, The Great Graduation Evacuation. If the statistics continue to spiral downward when it comes to the retention of the next generation, then we could look like post-Christian Europe in short order.

SermonCentral.com: John Maxwell on Leadership Landmines

Church Leadership Landmines By Dr. John C. Maxwell Catalyst Conference It happens all the time. Successful church leaders—pastors with great aptitude, great teams and great vision—are moving along, growing their churches when, all of a sudden, they fall flat on their faces. Their churches start hemorrhaging. Their best people start jumping ship. Their families start falling apart. And they sit in their offices with their heads in their hands wondering, “How did this happen?”
